I Love Your Outfit 2.0
More on how to wear basics and essentials with statement pieces, because the possibilities are endless, and we always need more outfit ideas.
Last Sunday, I wrote about how to mix basics and essentials with statement pieces to create wow-factor outfits. I had so many more ideas swimming around my brain that I decided to continue the same topic with today's newsletter. There's no such thing as too many outfit ideas. There's always another unexpected way to wear something you love.
I won't suggest a lot of layering here; I'm trying to keep it interesting yet easy to achieve. I will keep the topic of layering for another newsletter. I'm also not trying to sell any specific brands or products. These are ideas that you can adapt to your own budget. I often go to net-a-porter to create outfit boards because they have excellent product photography that is easy to work with.
My outfit ideas are a little extra. You can always tone them down by changing accessories. When I create outfit boards, I try to ensure I would wear them. I don't just put things together for aesthetic purposes. They are a reflection of my taste and personal style. No specific rules here.
And finally. This time, I'm giving you different accessory options for day and night. As always, you can change accessories to personalize your look. If you are more minimal, then add more minimal accessories. And the same goes for other styles. Whatever rocks your boat.
Sequined Skirt + Striped Button Down Shirt
I like to casualize an otherwise elevated outfit by adding a more rudimentary style of shoe. Hence the Tevas. You could also wear flip-flops. The reason why iridescent neon high heels work here is because the skirt is nude in color, and nude goes wonderfully with neons.
Printed Pants + Basic Striped T-Shirt
I initially thought about combining the printed pants with a neon pink J.Crew sweatshirt, but then I thought it was too much. I love this outfit. I would 100% wear it to do personal styling at Atelier Boutique and then dinner with friends at Krüs. I just went the other day, and it's delicious! Notice the I See Shells necklace. Pardo has a whole plethora of accessories with shells, as does Mercedes Salazar.
Sequined Shorts + Oversized White Button-Down Shirt
My love for sequins is quite apparent. The funny thing is that I don't own anything with sequins, but I always want to buy something with sequins, just like feathers. I love feathers, but feathers make me nervous because they fall very easily. I have to be incredibly careful wearing feathers, and I don't like that feeling. They're still gorgeous, tho. This outfit is a winner. The Loewe orchid clip earring is even more beautiful than it looks on this board. Check it out on the model. Dreamy.
Feather-Trimmed Printed Silk Shirt + Bermudas
If I could go out wearing the most exuberant things, I would. I'm not talking about fancy; I'm talking about ebullient, buoyant, cheerful, you get the point. This outfit deserves a flamboyant hat like the Coyote hat from Pardo. It's so wild, I'm in love with it. Granted, you will not be able to wear this to most workplaces, or you might live in a more conservative place, but who cares. Be exuberant! Also, I will only wear a clog if it's Rachel Comey.
Feather-Trimmed skirt + Striped T-Shirt
Clearly a stripped T-Shirt is every outfit’s best friend, as it has been proven here. I would go as far as to say that you can add a stripped T-Shirt to almost any outfit and it will very likely look good. Also, more feathers because life is too short not too. This outfit excites me. I can visualize myself going to the Publix to buy milk and eggs wearing this, just for shits and giggles (vulgar slang).
That’s all folks! At least for today. I could put together oufit boards for hours. I hope you feel inspired to create wow-factor outfits yourselves.
Remember to have fun, be flamboyant, live a little or a lot.
See you next Sunday! Love you. Stay cool.
xoxo
