Shopping Cart #1
Belt bags, everyday sandals, a book, socks for days, and the coolest boxer pants to wear inside and outside the house. Plus a playlist for morning walks, and a breakfast game-changer.
Good morning, friends, and welcome to Shopping Cart! A new series where I share what I currently have in my shopping cart. In my many shopping carts, indeed.
Now, not everything I put in a shopping cart, I buy. I just like to fantasize that I will. I will probably buy 0.01% of what I truly desire, and I desire many things because there are so many exciting things on the shoppable web. It's painful, lol! The good news is I'm not a shopaholic; I have a sense of control and know how to live a happy life without the things I like and want. Because there will always be new and exciting things to buy.
My number one favorite thing to do, as a hobby, is cooking. My second favorite thing to do is navigate the web in search of cool things. I could spend hours immersed in such an endeavor. Don't get me wrong, I have other healthy hobbies. I like to read, decorate my home, illustrate, adventure in hopes of discovering new and exciting places, etc... I wish gardening was one of them, especially after I found GARDENHEIR, but I'm not there yet. I only have so many hours a day to learn new things, and right now, I'm focusing on cooking, illustrating, and decorating my home.
Some people don't share what they find because they don't want others to have what they have, which is a ridiculous concept. When I see something I like, I can't wait to share it because maybe I won't buy it, but perhaps you will. And I hope you do. This is one of the main reasons I started this newsletter. I wanted to share my passions with others. I didn't want to keep them all to myself.
So here are 5 things I have in my shopping cart right now.
Le Sportsac Essential Belt Bag in Lush Meadow $75. I'll be honest. I love carrying around a big tote bag just for looks because I love tote bags. Still, I only carry a few things, including my phone, car keys, tiny wallet, and a small pouch with miscellaneous stuff, like my asthma inhaler, hand sanitizer, and mints. No makeup bag, no big wallets; I mean, I don't know what women put inside their bags. Each woman is a world on her own. This bag seems perfect and practical for running errands while looking stylish.
Tevas Midform Infinity in black $65. I've expressed my love for Tevas before. They are affordable, comfortable, durable, look good, and can be the ideal shoes to dress down an otherwise dressier outfit. Flip-flops are trending right now, but I'm more on the side of the Tevas. Who knows, I may also want/buy flip-flops in the future. Stick around to find out.
Extremely online by Taylor Lorenz $29.99. I'm always intrigued by the influencer economy. How does it work? How do people make money? What's the reality behind all those highly pre-meditated images? How all of this is shaping/affecting our world? The good, the bad, everything. I'm reading Kingdom of Prep: The Inside Story of the Rise and (Near) Fall of J.Crew (because I’m a J.Crew nerd). This one will likely be one of my next read reads.
Colorful Standard Classic Organic Sock in Scarlet Red $11. I live in Miami. I don't wear socks very often, but it's always good own a few. Red is one of SS24's biggest color trends. Now is the time to invest in a red sweater, socks, belt, handbag, lipstick, whatever. Red is hot. Wearing red socks is a subtle yet exciting way of including the trend in your daily outfits. I also want them in Oxblood Red, Polar Blue, and Sunny Orange. Who am I kidding! I want all colors, lol!
Comme Si La Boxer Alta in Martini Stripe $170. The silhouette of a classic boxer short in pant form. Comfort and style in one. What else could my heart desire? I'm thinking I could wear it with a crewneck t-shirt or classic tank top, a black blazer, preferably oversized, and some type of flat shoe. Maybe fancy flip-flops (aka expensive) or Tevas. Something like this:
That’s it for today's first edition of Shopping Cart. I hope you like my picks. Let me know if you decide to buy something for yourself. Share it on Instagram and tag LICUADORA BRUNCH; help us grow!
Before I say goodbye, have you listened to my walking playlist? If you have, I've been adding songs to it. If you haven't, then you need to hear it. I walk every day for an average of 50 minutes. Sometimes 1 hour and 20 minutes (how precise.) These songs help me walk more quickly, like I'm in a hurry to get to the nearest restroom, lol!
And lastly. Have you ever tried adding a drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of flaky salts to your morning Greek yogurt and mixed berries bowl of goodness? I just recently started doing it, and it's a game-changer. You have to try it. Now I can't eat it any other way. I also add a good pour of the best honey and slivered almonds. I prefer almonds to be toasted more than raw. The key is to always find the best possible ingredients. Salts must be flaky, honey must be uncooked, and the olive oil needs to be of the finishing kind, not the cooking kind. The kind you drizzle on top of salads and vegetables.
Love you guys. Enjoy your Sunday. Stay cool and keep your peace. Thank you for being here, and if you enjoy reading this newsletter, consider sharing it with someone who might also enjoy it.
